Our vision
Carbon neutrality and a mentally healthy labour force are two of Belgium’s biggest challenges for a prosperous future.
These pressing issues need to be addressed now and in a holistic way. The Foundation will act as a catalyst for innovative solutions that will help overcome these two challenges.

Our mission
If not now, when?
Climate change and mental well-being of the labour force need immediate action. By offering financial support on the one hand, and contributing to a productive ecosystem on the other, the Foundation will support innovative and concrete, holistic projects that help Belgium reach carbon neutrality and a mentally resilient workforce.
We will fund innovative and impactful solutions via phased strategic alliances with existing institutions that, among others, will help fill financing gaps. We will advance solutions through high-level collaborations with academia, scientists, industry leaders, social partners, politics. We will do so in an ethical and efficient way and ensure a long-lasting impact in every project.

Meet the board

Nadia Jansen, owner and CEO of Group Jansen since 2008, has transformed the renovation and construction company into a leader in healthcare and cleanroom industries. Specialising in interior finishing and complex techniques, the company has grown to 800 employees across Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany. Nadia’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and design drives the company’s success. She’s active in Belgian corporate networks and advisory boards, including LRM’s investment committee and EY’s Enterprise of the Year jury.
Luc Lallemand is a Belgian executive with a distinguished railway career. From CFO at the Belgian Railway company NMBS-SNCB, he rose to CEO of Infrabel, modernizing Belgian railways. He led the French SNCF Réseau and held board positions at bpost, RATP Dev (Paris), Réseau Ferré de France (Paris) and Vinçotte. Lallemand’s expertise spans railway management, infrastructure development, and public transport policy.
Véronique Halloin is a civil engineer with a doctorate in applied sciences and honorary full professor of chemical engineering at Université Libre de Bruxelles. Since 2008, she has been Secretary General of F.R.S.-FNRS, supporting fundamental and strategic research in all scientific fields in French-speaking Belgium. She is President of the European Science Foundation and member of CERN Council, Science Europe, and the Global Science Forum. In 2022, she was elected to the Royal Academy of Belgium.
After an initial experience in Belgium’s industry, Bernard De Cannière co-founded his first company at 27, which became a pioneer in Europe’s digital transformation. He co-founded multiple companies over the next 20 years in the digital and medical instrumentation sectors. He later led three organizations in the medical, digital, and industrial sectors, including as CEO of the Vinçotte group. De Cannière has chaired the Board of Directors at ULB since January 2024.
A Belgian engineer and business leader, Dirk Boogmans has held pivotal roles including CEO at construction group CFE and investment company GIMV. He serves on various company boards and is involved with Private Equity and Venture Capital. He is also on the Board of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and was chairman of the Flemish Council for Sciences and Innovation.
